This contribution supports the Weenusk First Nation’s scientific research, science-based skill development, and community participation to assess and quantify biodiversity and ecosystem carbon (peatland and coastal) in their Traditional Territories and to participate meaningfully in the Hudson Bay—James Bay Lowlands Biodiversity Conservation and Carbon Sequestration Initiative. The work will also provide relevant information for the on-going feasibility assessment for a potential National Marine Conservation Area in Western James and Southwestern Hudson Bay.
This record is a historical disbursement from Canada's open grants database — it documents a past payment, not an active program accepting applications.
