The "Community Resilience and Youth Engagement Initiative” is a five-year project implemented by The Dam – Develop Assist Mentor organization. The purpose of this project is to address the root causes of youth violence and gang involvement in Mississauga, Ontario. The Dam will recruit vulnerable youth and their families to responsive and holistic programming, that teaches practical skills and resources to secure meaningful employment, strengthens foundational familial relationships, and provides educational workshops on healthy relationships, life management, and life skills. The project is designed to reduce risk and enhance protective factors by building a robust ecosystem of support through mentorship, strategic outreach, and community partnerships.
